Magnetic Snow Goggles: Fit and Lens Guide

A magnetic lens attachment is one part of a snow goggle. Frame size, face contact, strap position and the selected lens also matter. Before choosing a color, compare the product dimensions with goggles you already use and check how the pair sits with your own helmet.

Start with the frame and strap

The Copper Ember goggles and Glacier Blue goggles share the same construction: a flexible TPU frame, removable magnetic dual-layer PC lens, three-layer face foam and an adjustable strap with a grippy inner strip. The frame measures approximately 6.69 inch wide by 3.54 inch high and weighs approximately 163 g.

Compare the frame size with your face and helmet, then check how the strap sits over your helmet. The frame should sit comfortably against your face without a gap between the goggles and helmet.

What to check with your helmet

  • The frame should sit evenly against your face without forcing it into position.
  • Check pressure around the nose and the contact between the face foam and your cheeks.
  • Look at the space between the helmet edge and the goggle frame.
  • Adjust the strap to a comfortable position, then look left, right and down.

If you wear prescription glasses, check the space inside the goggles against the width and height of your frames. Contact our team for help checking fit before ordering. REI's goggle selection guide explains why face and helmet fit need to be checked together.

A removable lens does not specify its light rating

Magnetic lenses detach from the frame; dual-layer lenses have two layers. Check the selected lens's visible-light transmission (VLT) and recommended conditions when choosing for bright sun or flat light. If that information is missing, contact our team before ordering.

Choose your color and see what is included

Choose your lens-and-strap color above. Each order includes one complete pair of goggles in your chosen color. Extra lenses, a case and other accessories are not included.

Care around the lens attachment

Use the product's handling instructions when removing or reseating the lens. Work with clean hands and avoid pressing the optical surface. Before use, check that the lens is seated as intended and that the strap and frame are undamaged. If you are unsure about the attachment or need a replacement, contact support rather than forcing a part into place.

Browse all snow goggles, read the care and storage guide, or ask the Help Center about your selected color and helmet.
